When “Survival Instincts” Take Us Out

MY HISTORY — ORIGINALLY POSTED DECEMBER 14, 2022 ON INSTAGRAM@THEPOINTOFYOU

This morning I posted a light-hearted video about slooooooowing down in alignment with nature, in a way that is kind and patient with our Selves and others.

This video dives deeper into the emotional darkness, that can be so prevalent this time of year … where we experience feeling unable (or feel strong resistance toward) being kind or patient with our Selves or with others.

This experience signals that our subconscious “survival” instincts have taken charge. These brain patterns operate to keep us small, quiet and irrelevant, to keep us safe. They start with a strong reminder that we are “not” something … good, capable, wanted, acceptable and, therefore, not deserving. They continue by reminding us that we are not equal and they defeat us by reminding us of the ways we do not get to be fulfilled. None of this is truth, no matter how deeply we believe it is and nor how much we think life keeps proving it.

In this video I share the Point of You exercise that shows us exactly what our survival instincts are and how they can reveal to us the truth — showing us our light — in contrast.
