A Magical Day Feeling Surrounded by Divine Love
MY HISTORY — ORIGINALLY POSTED JUNE 6, 2019 ON INSTAGRAM@THEPOINTOFYOU
I just returned from a week in Sacramento, staying with my Mom, while my Dad was camping with his photography buddies.
Each day I got up early and walked out to my favorite sacred place on the American River Parkway to meditate and just BE connected with nature. The sights and sounds each morning were truly magical, and my focus was simply to allow myself to open up to and feel divine love surrounding me.
On the 3rd day, as I turned off the main path, I walked about 15 yards and came upon a turtle, unusually far from the water.
On the day I was leaving, just a bit farther down this same path, I crossed a horse trail, where a coyote and I greeted each other, just 15 yards apart (no pic, darn).
Then a few yards farther I came upon a deer buck and doe grazing. I stopped and stood there quietly looking at each of them gently for about a minute, just feeling love.
Then I headed on down the path and saw a tiny bunny scampering down the path ahead of me.
I few steps farther I looked down towards the water and saw a great blue heron standing in the sun, nearly out of sight.
Then I heard a faint rustle of leaves behind me and turned around to see the buck following me down the path. We looked at each other for a few moments, and then I turned and kept walking.
Then I came to an opening down to the river and saw a group of fish almost still in the sunlight.
I proceeded down the path, through blackberry vines and a reed maze taller than I am, to my favorite spot and meditated in the morning sun, delighted by the songs of a Pied-billed Grebe (duck), Bewick’s Wrens, Song Sparrows, and Northern House Wrens (according to the Merlin app). I could have sat there quietly all day, immersed in a bit of heaven on earth. There’s a part of me that’s still there.
