Restructing In Metaphorical Cocoons
MY HISTORY — ORIGINALLY POSTED JANUARY 26, 2023 ON INSTAGRAM@THEPOINTOFYOU
Have you been feeling heightened frustration with your Self and/or others, lately? If yes, you’re not alone.
This is the time of year (winter season) when we are meant to go into our metaphorical cocoons, break our egoic-Selves down into metaphorical mush and restructure our Selves from metaphorical caterpillars into the unique metaphorical butterflies we each are meant to become.
From my perspective, this metamorphosis — META: to analyze something in an abstract, high-level way (+) MORPH: to be transformed (+) OSIS: actions, conditions or states — involves breaking down and bringing “light” (new understanding) to the emotional traumas that formed our egoic selves — our Self-rejecting, Self-shaming, Self-denying, Self-shutting down selves we learned how to become, to “survive.”
To say the least, this natural process can feel quite uncomfortable and disorienting. Yet, without intentional consciousness shifts, we will end up choosing the same ways of being “safe” that we’ve always chosen … AKA denying our Selves, because our survival instincts create strong resistance to choosing any other way.
In this video, I share a little more about the lifework I see in this season of transformation, and a few of my own current experiences.
One more thought: despite it being the beginning of a new year, bringing strong desire to figure out where, exactly, we’re headed in our lives, this is NOT a good time to be trying to make big life decisions. See above. It is the time to be taking baby steps toward greater Self-fulfillment, today. In the video, I also share an example of this for me, right now.
We each are both individual and connected to all. The question NOW is, who am I, really, and will I let my Self be her/him/them?
