Winter Solstice Ceremony for 2020

MY HISTORY — ORIGINALLY POSTED JANUARY 2, 2020 ON INSTAGRAM@THEPOINTOFYOU

Happy New Year!

To me, Winter Solstice energetically feels more like the end of one year and the beginning of the next. A year ago, to honor this transition more intentionally, I did my first Winter Solstice rite-of-passage/threshold ceremony, in the desert outside of Bend. It was the most profound new beginning and commitment I had ever experienced, and it led to one of the most empowered years of my life … so far!

I chose to do this year’s ceremony the morning after the new moon following the Winter Solstice (Dec 26th), at my “sacred place” on the river, near where I grew up. My Partner, Bryan, had lovingly offered to witness and support me. As I (a-little-nervously) began to get set up, he noticed a beaver had joined us, swimming out in the pond — so rare and surprising! I googled what the beaver represents:

"For those with a dream, beaver comes to support that vision or to give you a nudge not to give up. Build your foundations firmly. If the old structure no longer works, walk away and start anew.”

Hah! So perfect! What a sweet magical gift!

Here’s the threshold I chose to cross and step into fully:

I am no longer responsible for carrying others pain and darkness for them. I am a carrier of light and joy.

I am no longer restricted to creating only for others’ visions. I am a creator in my own right.

I am no longer required to “NOT rock the boat.” I am a rEVOLutionary who disrupts with love.

What undiminished ways of “being” are YOU ready to commit to fully this year?  If you haven’t already, it’s not too late to create your own rite-of-passage ceremony to #bringyourlovetolife in 2020!
