Visual Exploration —Failure to Breakthrough

MY HISTORY — ORIGINALLY POSTED AUGUST 16, 2024 ON INSTAGRAM@THEPOINTOFYOU

I recently did an interesting exercise — expressing feelings visually to understand them better.

Exercise 1: Create a rough sketch of what the feeling of FAILURE looks like for me.

Exercise 2: Create a rough sketch of what the feeling of turning failure into BREAKTHROUGH looks like for me.

These (above) are my rough sketches.

Failure for me feels/looks like being sent away, cast out, not belonging and not wanted. It’s the feelings of betrayal, abandonment and aloneness.

Turning failure into breakthrough for me feels/looks like recognizing that whenever I feel abandoned and/or betrayed by others, I have been abandoning and betraying my Self in this relationship, somehow, and it’s not sustainable, so things are breaking down. Being "sent away" is a powerful form of liberation from something that is not working, no matter how hard I’ve been trying to make it work. When I sit with the pain of not belonging and being not wanted, and ask my Self what hasn’t been working for ME, this always shows me, in contrast, how I am not taking care of my Self and what being true to my own soul could look and feel like, instead.

What do feelings of failure look like for you? If you shift your focus onto what isn’t/wasn't working for YOU, what light (inner guidance) do you see?
